How to use cable tray fixing clamps

Cable tray fixing clamps are installed by positioning them around the tray rails, securing with washers and nuts, and adjusting to the desired elevation for safe and stable cable support.

Step-by-Step Installation

1. Plan the Layout Before installing clamps, mark the cable tray route according to your design plan. Consider clearance, load capacity, and cable separation requirements to ensure proper alignment and safety . 2. Select the Correct Clamp Type Use single clamps (SC) for individual trays or double clamps (DC) for supporting two adjacent trays. Ensure the clamps are compatible with your tray type and load requirements . 3. Position the Clamp Place the clamp around the tray siderails. For single clamps, slide a round washer onto the hanger rod, then lift the tray so the threaded rod passes through the clamp holes. For double clamps, position one half of the clamp over the existing tray rail, then lift the new tray section into place . 4. Secure with Washers and Nuts

  • Place a second washer on the threaded rod above the tray.
  • Thread a hex nut up to the bottom of the tray to hold it in position.
  • Adjust the upper nut downward until the clamp is firmly secured . 5. Adjust Elevation and Alignment Ensure the tray is level and at the desired height. Center-hung supports allow easier cable installation from both sides. Maximum support spacing is typically 1.5 to 3 meters, depending on tray type and load . 6. Final Checks
  • Verify that all clamps are tight and the tray is straight.
  • Confirm that the load does not exceed the clamp's rated capacity (usually 318–340 kg per hanger).
  • Ensure compliance with local electrical codes and safety standards .

Tips for Safe Installation

  • Use a laser level to maintain straight alignment.
  • Handle trays carefully to avoid coating damage.
  • For concrete or steel structures, use appropriate anchors or fasteners.
  • Follow manufacturer instructions for specific clamp types and fittings . By following these steps, cable tray fixing clamps will provide stable, safe, and code-compliant support for your cable installation.
